Old School Studio is a large, light, well-equipped studio in Newlyn, Nr Penzance, Cornwall. We are located in a tranquil setting in the heart of the fishing port of Newlyn. We currently offer Ballet (RAD), Barre Classes, Contemporary Dance, Yoga, Pilates, Sound Baths, and Massage Therapies.

We are the home of Penzance’s famous McGowan School of Dance – started by the fabulous Diana McGowan who taught for over 50 years in Penzance, Helston and all over Cornwall. She sadly passed away in 2016 bequeathing the School to Maria De Francesca. We have classes for all ages from toddlers to ‘Silver Swans’.

Hire of the hall with full facilities includes exposure to our audience on the Old School Studio notice board, and Social Media which goes out to 1200 + followers.

THE STUDIO

The Studio is 9m x11m with a wooden floor, mirrors, ballet barres, piano, Yoga and Pilates equipment:

£14 an hour for a weekly class

£12 an hour for 3 hours a week (or more) paid monthly in advance for regular weekly classes.

£16 an hour for a one-off hire – reduced to £14 for 3 hours or more.

Maria is a qualified RAD Ballet Teacher and has a BA Hons in Dance. She trained with Penzance’s infamous Diana McGowan

Slow Flow Vinyasa Yoga

Sandra’s love of yoga began over 20 years ago and in 2018 she decided to embark on a journey to become a yoga teacher, which she describes as an amazing experience that opened up a whole new chapter in her life.
